ETHIOPIA • MUDA TATESA
$23
ORIGIN:
A returning lot with a new name! This crop comes by way of Aleco at Red Fox and Dagne Chomen of Welichu Wachu. Dagne ran quality control for many years at the Oromia Cooperative Union before starting his own washing station network, which includes Muda Tatesa. He works very closely with farmers in the Ugo Begne and Yabitu Koba forests (which is the label I used for this coffee last harvest) and employs over 750 people at his three processing sites. While certainly no stranger to the menu, with this being the forth year we are offering Muda Tatesa, we do have a natural processed offering this year!
FLAVOUR:
We bring in Muda Tatesa every year for its bright profile that tastes so much like a warm day at the beach. This natural lot is quite close to washed lots of year’s past with wave upon wave of citrus flavours, cascading into some delicate peach and nectarine notes. The finish mixes black tea with a piquant and complex florality. Think peach snapple meets jasmine tea. Vibrant and refreshing, this lot is a perfect example of a wonderful sundried Guji!
